What a wonderful start we’ve had settling the children into nursery! They are already beginning to understand our routines beautifully and have been fantastic at keeping our classroom tidy and looking after our resources.

Over the past few weeks, our focus texts have been The Colour Monster, Mix It Up, A Walk in Autumn, and The Gruffalo. Our topic has been “All About Me”, and the children have really enjoyed sharing their books from home and talking about their families, pets, and favourite things.

The Colour Monster has supported us in exploring different emotions and beginning to develop self-regulation skills. We have also been learning about Autumn, collecting lots of natural materials on our seasonal walks. As part of our Harvest celebrations, the children even helped to make a delicious vegetable soup!

In Maths, we have been learning about colours, matching, sorting, and the number 1.
