The children began by exploring real Anglo-Saxon brooches, studying museum images to spot patterns, symbols and shapes used over a thousand years ago. Inspired by these historic designs, we sketched our own brooch ideas, thinking carefully about symmetry and detail. We then used embossing and debossing techniques on metal to bring our designs to life.

The finished brooches look fantastic – full of texture, creativity and history!
