We were invited to attend the Fylde Democracy Event, held at Fylde Council on Wednesday 30th September. We had the opportunity to meet the Mayor of Fylde and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire and to debate the motion: ‘This House believes that social media does more harm than good.’ Zac and Logan conducted their own research and presented their opinions eloquently, using a range of sophisticated vocabulary. The chamber was so impressed that members commented on how evocative their speeches were. This clearly had an impact on the other pupils in the chamber, who subsequently voted in support of the motion. Well done, boys! What a fantastic opportunity to learn about democracy firsthand!
